 the search continues

as luck would have it, the journey in search of a higher power took an unexpected turn. i can't remember what led me in this direction but i'm giving credit to my lucky coin which is giving me a lot of comfort. the source of the comfort is irrelevant, the bottom is i need all the comfort i can get.

what i have stumbled upon is shifting realities. my default reality can be challenging and if i am unable to change the terms and conditions of my present reality, why not shift realities? there are many ways to shift reality but it's not something you can buy on line and to truly shift realities and it should be done without the use of drugs. in other words, shifting reality requires a little work which is a good thing. if it was possible to snap your fingers and shift reality, it would be very difficult to take ownership of your new reality.

on a very basic level, cable news in the united states presents different realities. one network praised the actions of past president while a different  network condemned the same actions. neither network presented a unbiased account of the person's actions, a simple statement of truth was not as profitable to the networks as was shifting the reality of the person's actions. this is why a shifting reality is something that you must acquire by your own actions, it is next to impossible to find a human without ulterior motives.

in the new pope, john malkovich does an outstanding job of presenting his new reality.

  1. Excellent post, Mr Rosewater! The original church was founded on this principal. Then Jesus blatantly said, nothing is unforgivable, no one is turned away, everyone is to be loved and cared for unconditionally.
But then, church became a business. It’s hard to find Jesus’s church these days. Don’t fall for the digitized versions. They are plentiful and varied. Everyone painting their own profitable reality. They are businesses. Jesus threw the businesses out of the Temple. Be like Jesus. Don’t fall for bull shit. Throw it out!
Nothing is less real than reality tv and the so called news. Thank God for remotes!

    1. i like the concept and ideals of religion but i've been able to get past the humans running the show. maybe it's the anarchist in me or the fear of disappointed.

  2. News these days is an abomination..... I am not sure, but it sure as hell SEEMED like news in the 60s and 70s was not nearly as much about CREATING a reality..... but more towards what I think we would all prefer.... reporting details of supposedly important events.

Compared to today’s “news” even a fictional newspaper television drama like “Lou Grant” seems more honest and forthright in its efforts to portray journalism as “fact” based compared to the attempts at journalism today.

In terms of faith/higher power issues.... I think there have ALWAYS been folks who work damn hard to skew faith to suit their own agenda. I still feel whatever faith/higher power a person may choose should be based on the inherent philosophy of it they like regardless of what the humans involved may suggest.

  3. is it all a dream that there once was something called the fcc which regulated fact from fiction on tv? and i seem to recall a time when lawyers and drug companies weren't allowed to advertise on tv.

  4. Reality bites. And the lines between fact and fiction continue to get blurrier but people have that device in their pocket to keep them distracted from reality and caring too much. We are slowly turning into zombies.
