i am depressed.

i don't know if i'm really depressed, i'm just thinking of slim pickens in blazing saddles. have i ever mentioned how much i love slim pickens?

for just a moment, pretend that slim pickens is donald trump and cleavon little is obama:

that clip brings a smile to my face but i'm still depressed.

this morning i took my mother to a remembrance day event and got all choked up. my dad would have been 95 years old in a few days and he was a veteran of WW2. my mother was a war bride. i wore a pair of my dad's pants, his shirt and his shoes. as the ceremony progressed and i got more and more verklempt and tears were flowing down my face as they played the last post.

as i looked around at all of the veterans, all of whom were at least 90 years old, i couldn't help but think of that prick donald trump. that son of bitch evaded military service and yet has the gall to proclaim that he "loves war" and wants to "bomb the shit our of" muslims in the middle east. i just got really really angry with the donald.

in the past few days i've had a total roller coaster of emotions regarding trump's victory. on election night i was totally depressed but the next day it was back to business. at times i even smiled thinking of all the excitement and bullshit that's going to happen in the next few years. but then i see trump's smirking face on tv and i get back to reality and almost slip into depression.

but fuck donald. here is my absolute favorite anti-war song.

billy says he love you sons of bitches.

  2. Well, you and a billion other people were depressed on election night, so you're not suffering alone. Now we'll see how the US constitution copes with having a genuine SOB as its chief executive. Not the first time it's happened.

    1. the thing that really depresses me is burning more fossil fuels and raising the acidity of the oceans. but, the oceans will have the last laugh if sea levels rise 20 feet and humans starve with fish left to eat.

  5. I'm fairly certain that Mr Trump was my roommate when I was institutionalized about 30 years ago. The poor thing just cried all day when he wasn't allowed to hold the remote for the television.

  6. I wasn't impress with Trump winning. But in two years we here in United States can take away his power. When mid term comes.
All of my mom brothers serve during WWII and two of them are still alive.

  8. As you know from reading my blog, I too was very rancorous about Trump winning. It is hirrorific. But, I am also mad at Hillary. She could have done two small things and either would have made her a shoo-in. She could have talked about and cared about blue collar folk and they wouldn't have left in droves, or she could have picked Bernie as a running mate. She lost the election on her own. It is sad.

My own Dad would be 93 in two weeks. He two was in WWII (Normandy, in fact). I miss him a lot. He would be shocked at the election too.

  9. I'm a Slim Pickens' fan too, but in small doses.

I had missed that remark by Trump.

    Where was your mother from?

My father was a Merchant Marines who was on two ships that sunk. He was burned in one of those sinkings and ended up floating in the ocean for days. He would be 107 if he were still alive and my mother 102.

  10. Definitely for men like your father, Mr. Rosewater. Seems like the world needs more of those types of fellas right now. And yes indeed it's going to be an interesting few years with Donnie T running things. Take care.
